Trent University Celebrates Black History Month
Black joy celebrated through series of events, performances, and services
February is a month to celebrate the Black experience – from popular culture to academia.
Through a collaboration between student groups, University support networks, faculties, and the local communities, Trent is honouring Black History Month with a new website highlighting events, seminars, debates, performances, support groups, and movie nights – all highlighting the experience of Black joy.
Feature events include Enwayaang: Belonging on Campus with Dr. Nadège Compaoré, a Black History Month Cookout, Queering Black History Month Movie Night, and a Black Joy Talk with Black Lives Matter in Canada co-founder, Sandy Hudson.
Be sure to check out the full list of events and learning resources available to the Trent community on Trent’s Black History Month website and join the celebration on social media using #BHM2022 and tagging @TrentUniversity.
