Lady Eaton College November Nights were filled with laughter and cheer. The College is practicing social distancing with a (safe) Trent spin on it. This fall, Lady Eaton College representatives set up weekly COVID-19 safe bonfires on campus. The events were socially distanced with masks required, of course.

The bonfires are a great opportunity to de-stress, especially before exam season. Vandana Narine, a fourth-year Economics and International Development Studies student was thankful for the opportunity to attend one of the November Nights fires. “I’m grateful that my Trent community feels like family, even when we can’t be together like we’re used to,” she said.

Prepackaged and sanitized individual s’more and marshmallow kits were available and ready for the fire. LEC cabinet provided lots of hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes for everyone that attended. The number of people allowed in the space at one time was limited and controlled by booking a timeslot for the event ahead of time.

“November can be a stressful time for students, and the nights can be downright cold. So, what better way to spend time with friends than around a campfire?” explained Dr. Christine Freeman-Roth the principal of Lady Eaton College. “November Nights was a fabulous collaboration between Lady Eaton College and LEC Cabinet and a great example of the kinds of events that we can have safely on campus this fall.”
