Trent University Connecting with Future Students via Virtual Open House
Guests invited to take virtual tours and join live lectures and chats with professors and students
Trent University will host future students, their friends and families at its first-ever virtual Open House for both its Peterborough and Durham campuses this Saturday, April 18 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., an ideal opportunity to explore Ontario’s #1 undergraduate university.
“We believe that prospective students should visit and experience the campuses that interest them as they decide on their postsecondary path,” says Dr. Leo Groarke, president and vice-chancellor of Trent. “Knowing that students, and institutions, across the country and around the world are practicing physical distancing to flatten the curve on COVID-19, Trent has created this new online event to allow students to explore Trent from the comfort of their own homes.”
Trent’s virtual Open House will highlight the University’s campuses in Peterborough and Durham GTA, feature live chats and information sessions with faculty, staff and current students, and showcase curated video tours of spaces, places and experiences offered at both campuses.
“We’ve done everything we can to ensure that this Saturday’s Open House in its virtual form gives students a real sense of the high quality of our academic programs, guaranteed career experiences, vibrant student life, and stellar residences, labs, lecture halls and study spaces,” explains Marilyn Burns, associate vice-president, Communications & Recruitment. “The three-hour event will feature real-time interaction with faculty and live chats with students. We are encouraged that already the number of students registered for both campuses has surpassed the total number who attended last year’s in-person March Break Open House.”
All prospective students who register for and attend this weekend’s Virtual Open House are also automatically entered in a draw to win free first-year tuition.
