Trent University Mourns the Death of J. Bryan Graham
A member of Trent University’s Board of Governors from 1994 until 2001, Mr. Graham was also a proud Trent parent
The Trent University community is saddened to learn of the passing of J. Bryan Graham, Trent parent, former Board of Governors member for seven years, and treasurer of the University’s Beyond Our Walls Campaign.
Mr. Graham joined the Board of Governors in 1994. Throughout this time with the Board, he was a key member of several committees, including: the audit and finance committee, fundraising planning committee, pension task force, the presidential search committee, and the investment and audit committee. In 1999, Mr. Graham joined the advancement committee. He was also treasurer for the University’s Beyond Our Walls Campaign, a $17.2 million success story for Trent. Professionally, Mr. Graham enjoyed a long and rewarding accounting career as a partner with Coopers & Lybrand and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He was known for specializing in audit and advisory services to local government, universities, hospitals, financial institutions, and a variety of not-for-profit organizations.
Throughout his career, Mr. Graham served on various technical committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, including the colleges and universities committee, municipal accounting and auditing committee, and the health care accounting and auditing committee. And he chaired the health care accounting and auditing committee for two years. Mr. Graham was also very active in community affairs and served as a member of the executive committee and chairman of the marketing committee of the Toronto Symphony. With the University Club of Toronto, Mr. Graham also held esteemed roles as president and director.
