Trent University Supports Global Climate Change Movement
Trent University recognizes the importance of the global movement to bring attention to climate change and the issues that it raises. In keeping with this, the University Senate has passed a motion supporting students wishing to take part. The motion reads: “The Trent University Senate supports the goals of the proposed climate strike to take place on Friday, September 27, 2019 and encourages course instructors to accommodate student involvement.”
The University will remain open and continue normal academic and administrative activities on both its campuses (in Peterborough and Durham) on September 27. Students are encouraged to communicate with their professors and make arrangements should they wish to participate in events being held in various locations across the region and country.
