Trent University Saddened to Learn of the Passing of Dr. Wayne Evans
Dr. Evans worked at Trent for over a decade in multiple departments, working as both a professor and appointed chair
The Trent community is saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Wayne Evans who worked at Trent University for 16 years as both a professor and appointed chair.
Dr. Evans started at Trent in 1990, as a professor in both the Environmental Science and Physics departments. When Dr. Evans retired in 2006, he had also spent time as the appointed chair of the Freshwater Science Program from 1991-1994.
Below is an excerpt from his obituary notice:
“He is the author of over 200 publications with 138 in peer-reviewed journals. He was a reviewer of the IPCC 2001 and 2007 Assessment Reports and was an expert on the interaction of the energy industry with the Kyoto accord. It is clear from this record that he was an energetic and insightful atmosphere scientist that supported major Canadian space activities, and transmitted that enthusiasm to many students who fondly remember him at this time.”
The University extends heartfelt sympathies to Dr. Wayne Evans’ family and friends, and to all that knew him at Trent University.
