The Ecology of Language and the Language of Place: Language as Environmental Response in the Era of the Anthropocene
Time: 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Location: Scott House, Senior Common Room, Traill College
About: As humans, language is one of the most precious things we have. Language holds inside of itself all the things we hold dearest: memory, emotion, perception, experience, communication – life. This seminar will attempt to answer the question of what the appropriate response to the land would be in the face of the Anthropocene.

Trent Lands and Nature Areas Plan Community Pop Up Station
Time: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Location: Downtown Regional Farmers’ Market, Peterborough Square, Lower Level
About: Phase 1 of the Trent Lands and Nature Areas Plan update focuses on updating the Nature Areas Stewardship Plan, allowing us to better understand the natural heritage features that exist within our campus, such as the location, type and status of wetlands and woodlands, species, areas of significance to First Nations, as well as areas of cultural significance. All are welcome.

About: Each year, students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 display their projects in biological, physical, engineering and computing sciences.

About: Join us at this special awards ceremony honoring exemplary teaching and educational leadership at Trent. This exciting annual event will feature remarks by award recipients and important announcements about teaching and learning at Trent.

Spiderwoman Theatre Returns to Trent
Time: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Location: Nozhem First People’s Performance Space, FPHL 101
About: Inspired by the 1976 production of Women in Violence, this show is rooted in powerful storytelling with a twist of humor and an uplifting musical beat. A multigenerational exploration of violence, healing and renewal in the lives of Indigenous women. Join us for this one time only event you won’t want to miss.
