Most academic and administrative operations at Trent University in Peterborough and Durham GTA close for winter holiday break at the end of business on Friday, December 21, 2018 and reopen Thursday, January 3, 2019. Individual office hours may vary so please call ahead.

Classes resume at both campuses Monday, January 7, 2019 for the winter semester.

The Trent University Durham GTA campus closes at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, December 21 and will reopen with modified hours Thursday, January 3 through Friday, January 4, open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Regular hours will resume Monday, January 7, 2019.

Student Residences close at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 and reopen at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2019.

Risk Management and Security Operations

Peterborough: Campus Security will remain on duty 24/7 throughout the holiday season. All building exterior doors, labs and classrooms will remain locked. Access cards will continue to allow entry to non-residence buildings. Campus Security strongly recommends you advise them, by calling 705-748-1328 or emailing security@trentu.ca, if you must access a campus building during the break. Persons without access cards and/or keys to non-residence buildings will require prior written approval from their department head that clearly specifies time(s) and location(s) of required access. Please contact Campus Security to gain access in this circumstance.

Durham GTA: There will be no access to campus for students, faculty or staff during the holiday break closure.  Security will continue to monitor the building and property. 

Bata Library will offer extended hours for exam study from Monday, December 3 to Wednesday, December 18, 2018. During these dates the Library will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Bata Library will close for the winter holidays on Friday, December 21 at 5:00 p.m., and will reopen with reduced hours Thursday, January 3 through to Friday, January 4, 2019, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Regular Library hours will resume Monday, January 7, 2019. The Athletics Centre at Trent is open throughout the holidays, but will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve (Monday, December 31). Holiday hours begin Saturday, December 22, with regular hours resuming Wednesday, January 2. The fall 2018 schedule for group fitness classes and aquatics runs through to Friday, December 21. The holiday schedule for both group fitness classes and aquatics will begin on Saturday, December 22, and run through to Tuesday, January 1, 2018. Starbucks in the Student Centre will shift their hours to the following for the holidays:

• Closed December 22, 2018 through January 6, 2019
• Reopens Monday, January 7, 2019 with regular hours 7:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Bus Schedule
West and East Bank express service continues until Wednesday, December 19, and will be suspended from Thursday, December 20 until Friday, January 4.
