#FacesofTrentU: New Ways of Thinking Open for Sociology Student
Kali Pieters, Sociology
“Trent has prepared me to reach all of my goals in life – academic or other. Being here has made me aware of what I am capable of doing and through being in such a diverse place, I’ve learned a lot about myself. Being in Sociology I have been opened to a new way of thinking that allows me to view the world and my experiences differently.”
As a first year at a different university out of the province, Trent transfer student Kali Pieters, who is now a fourth-year Sociology student, was drawn to the City of Peterborough and Trent University. Ms. Pieters found Trent and Peterborough to be her perfect place to learn and to live. Engaging with profs and students inside and outside her program have allowed her to critically analyze her experiences, and work to better her community.
Trent University prides itself on providing an outstanding personal and interactive learning environment. This story is part of the #FacesofTrentU series, which highlights our many student success stories and the numerous dynamic programs offered at Trent.
