Trent University Saddened to Learn of the Passing of Joyce Sutton
Mrs. Sutton worked at Trent University from 1976 - 2007
The Trent University community was saddened to learn of the passing of Joyce Sutton. Mrs. Sutton began working at Trent as a transcript officer in 1976. During her time at Trent, she held various positions within the Office of the Registrar. Mrs. Sutton retired as assistant registrar on October 1, 2007.
Below is an excerpt from her obituary notice:
Passed away at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Wednesday March 14, 2018. Joyce Sutton of Bridgenorth in her 72nd year. Joyce was a longtime dedicated employee of Trent University, serving in the role as Assistant Registrar for Financial Aid, where she helped many students over the years. She was also an active volunteer for over 25 years with Telecare. Loved and missed by her husband Paul and her children Robin (Alison) of Kitchener and Rochelle Sutton (Dan Leonard) of Peterborough. Remembered by her brother Earl Ivey (Susan) of North Kawartha, sisters-in-law Beverley Vandenberg of Peterborough, Joyce Cooper (Bill) of Lindsay, Sheila Wilson (Greg) of Washago, brother-in-law Eric Sutton (Shirley) of Collingwood and several nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield on Sunday March 18, 2018 from 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday March 19, 2018 at 2:30 PM. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Peterborough or the PRHC Foundation as expressions of sympathy and may be made by contacting the funeral home.
