Trent Excalibur Camp to Launch New Summer Sessions in Lakefield
Popular summer camp celebrates 25 years with new location launch
Following 25 years of success, the Trent Excalibur Camp is expanding, offering nine weeks of camp in Lakefield at the Lakefield Community Centre starting this summer.
“Our Lakefield camp provides parents another option to help keep their kid’s minds and bodies active throughout the summer months,” said Kevin Penny, manager of sport development at Trent University. “The camp builds upon the very successful Trent University Excalibur Camp and, if all goes well in Lakefield, we hope to explore opportunities to expand into other communities close by.”
Not only will the camp offer a new location for campers to attend, but also specialized programming. For the nine weeks the camp will run, starting the week of July 4, 2017 and running through to September 1, campers will have the choice to decide between two new programs:
- Discovery Camp – giving campers a chance each day to focus on a specific area that make the Trent Excalibur Camp unique; arts, sports, or nature.
- Discovery Sports Camp – giving campers a chance to focus on skills-based programs in soccer, basketball, baseball, ultimate frisbee and numerous other sports.
Each week at the Lakefield location, the camp will also have a unique theme such as pirates, space or around the world. The camp is open to kids aged six to 12.
