Trent's Giving Tuesday Campaign Unleashes over $40,000
Alumni and friends exceed expectations on annual day of giving
Move over Black Friday and Cyber Monday – this year, the Trent family celebrated Giving Tuesday, a global day of sharing that kicks off the giving season, by unleashing more than $40,000 toward supporting students and athletes and enhancing vital student services at the University.
“I applaud Bryan Davies, past chair of the Board of Governors – his matching donation of $10,000 inspired everyone to donate on this fantastic day of giving. Once again proving Trent is profoundly anchored in philanthropy and committed to giving, and volunteerism,” said Julie Davis, vice-president of External Relations and Advancement at Trent.
Thanks to Trent alumni and friends, Giving Tuesday at Trent exceeded expectations by leaps and bounds this year, raising $43,245 from over 90 donors. This amount included a generous matching pledge of $10,000 from honorary alumnus and former Board of Governors chair Bryan Davies.
“As a volunteer and friend of Trent University, I take great pride in the accomplishments of Trent's students and in the remarkable teaching and research of our faculty. I am excited that together on Giving Tuesday we enhanced vital student services, helped our student athletes to succeed, and unleashed students' potential,” Mr. Davies said.
