Meet a Trent Student: O-Week Leader Mary Carswell-Gates, English Literature
“Orientation Week has such a special place in my heart. For me, it was the catalyst I needed to establish my confidence, build lasting friendships, and solidify a foundation for success in my studies,” says third-year English Literature student, Mary Carswell-Gates.
The lasting impression that Orientation Week had on Ms. Carswell-Gates, is a large reason why she has taken on the role of O-Week leader. To be known to new, incoming students by her O-Week leader name, Pancake, Ms. Carwell-Gates will also be taking over Trent’s Snapchat account this week to give us a behind scenes look at all things #trentuoweek. Be sure to follow along.
“My biggest piece of advice for incoming students is to just jump in. Go out to the events, meet as many people as you can, cheer loudly, and try new things.”
