Falling for Trent: Future Students Spend Day on Campus
Peterborough campus hosts open house event for prospective students and their families
Trent could not have ordered a more beautiful day to host students and their families at Trent’s Peterborough Campus Open House on Friday, October 23. Over 1900 guests were greeted by sunshine, bright fall leaves, and enthusiastic student ambassadors and spent the day discovering the life and opportunities that await them at Trent University. A buzz of conversations filled the campus, of future students speaking with Trent’s faculty and staff on topics ranging from what program to study, which college residence to choose, and the types of internships and community research projects available.
Highlights of the day included the academic fair, mini-lectures, open science labs, residence tours, a trip to the forensic crime scene house, and the opportunity to meet Trent’s president while taking in the spectacular views of Trent’s stunning 1,500 acre campus.
Twitter captured student’s reactions to their visit, with posts such as “the Trent campus is so pretty omg” and “I am seriously in love with Trent”.
“For the first time, we offered our Open House event on a Friday so that prospective students could meet Trent students and get a glimpse of real lectures and labs happening simultaneously,” said Marilyn Burns, executive director of Marketing and Communications, Recruitment and Admissions at Trent University. “There’s nothing like the buzz of campus life to give students a sense of the dynamic learning and living environment that is here at Trent.”
