International Student from Botswana Wins Chamber of Commerce Award
During the Peterborough Business Excellence Awards dinner, held on October 17, Trent international student Lebogang Mothibatsela was honoured by the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce as the recipient of the 2007 Student Business Leadership Bursary.
As the winner of the $1,000 annual bursary, Ms. Mothibatsela, who originally hails from Botswana and is currently in her final year at Trent, was recognized for exceptional business leadership potential in a post-secondary student.
Ms. Mothibatsela is studying Business Administration and Hispanic Studies at Trent, with a specialization in Human Resources Management. She was nominated for the award by her professors and members of the community for a strong academic record and exceptional dedication to the Peterborough community through her volunteer work with the Peterborough AIDS Resource Network. When she graduates, Ms. Mothibatsela intends to us her Business Administration education to pursue HIV/AIDS and poverty awareness work on a global level, while partaking in youth empowerment and motivation.
The Student Business Leadership Bursary is presented each year by the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce to one Trent student and one student from Fleming College.
