New AODA Training ONLINE Module Now available
All staff, faculty and volunteers encouraged to participate by March 1, 2010
The goal of Ontario’s legislation is to ensure that people with disabilities have the same kind of opportunities to participate fully in all areas of the life of our province. At Trent, we have always believed in these principles; the law gives us the opportunity to effectively fulfill them.
Trent University is offering training to all members of the Trent community, including faculty, staff, administration, student employees, and volunteers, to help them meet the following accessibility standards:
- Customer service
- Transportation
- Information and communications
- Built environment
- Employment
You may have heard in the media that as of January 1st, 2010, compliance under the first standard, customer service, is mandatory for all public institutions and organizations.
The Council of Ontario Universities Online E-Learning Course is a step-by-step interactive learning model that meets the training requirement for the AODA customer service standard.
Please be sure to participate as soon as you can – the deadline for completion is March 1, 2010.
