Local Kids Participate in Unique Educational Camping Experiences at Trent
Conference and Hospitality Services Run Variety of Themed Day Camps All Summer Long
Over 80 local kids are enjoying a uniquely educational and recreational day camp experience this summer with the Trent Camps program. Run through Trent University’s Conference and Hospitality Services, the camp is operating five week-long sessions over the course of the summer.
Each session of the camp focuses on a different theme for the whole week which campers are immersed into upon their arrival each day. The themes include: dramatic arts, the science of survival in the wilderness, weird science and, new this year, a spy camp devoted to uncovering clues and discovering secrets.
“We strive to create a unique camp experience by encouraging a balance of fun, recreational activities and educational opportunities,” says Josh Hatt, camp administrator, Trent Camps. “Trent Camps offers youth in the Kawartha area a program that stands out due to highly skilled programming staff, most of which are teachers or training to be teachers.”
The Trent Camps staff is fully trained and specializes in a wide variety of subjects to create a dynamic, engaging and safe environment for campers. Working to make every experience memorable and inclusive, Trent Camps take pride in their commitment to foster real friendships and exciting discoveries.
