Trent University's tribute to the late Peter Gzowski will focus on the 'Voice of a Chancellor' and showcase his many contributions to the University community, and his dedication to Canada and Canadian culture.

The university's tribute is a community event and includes an eclectic mix of Gzowski's favourite performers whose talents were a personal inspiration to him. The program also features speakers who were touched by Gzowski's presence. Rounding out the tribute are audio highlights of some of the thousands of interviews he completed throughout his broadcasting career - including stories about his time spent at Trent and readings of some of the many tributes received at the University.

Gzowski's love of music and his commitment to support emerging artists by giving them exposure to a national audience on Morningside is renowned. It is fitting that a community celebration of his life include performances by a variety of artists.

Trent's tribute will include Toronto jazz and blues singer Molly Johnson accompanied by pianist Andrew Craig, and Trent alum Erin Leahy and Donnell Leahy of the award winning Leahy family from Lakefield. In honour of Gzowski's spirit the Otonabee Women's Hand Drum Singers will present a special performance.

The tribute evening is set for Tuesday, February 12 at 7:30 pm. Doors to the Wenjack Theatre open at 7 pm. Audience members are encouraged to arrive early. An informal reception for the audience and the participants in the program will be held after the tribute in the Otonabee College Dining Hall.
