Renowned Canadian screen and stage actress, Madeleine Thornton Sherwood will visit Trent University on Monday, October 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Champlain College, to talk about her career on Broadway and in Hollywood. Ms. Sherwood was a regular member of Tennessee Williams' ensemble, originating roles in several plays and appearing in the film versions of Sweet Bird of Youth and Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. She was in the world premier of Arthur Miller's The Crucible, and starred in plays by Edward Albee and Bertolt Brecht. Ms. Sherwood also appeared in over 100 television programmes, among which was her role as the Mother Superior in The Flying Nun. Madeleine Sherwood will talk about her work with Paul Newman, Elizabeth Taylor, and Sally Field and show clips from her best remembered films. There is no charge for admission and all
