An Evening of Indigenous Theatre to be Held at Trent on April 6 |

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Performance Presentations with Students to be Showcased Tuesday, April 4, 2006, Peterborough The Department of Native Studies at Trent University, in association with Indigenous Performance Initiatives, is pleased to present Nishnaabe Maanjiidwin II III, an Indigenous performance presentation with students in Indigenous theatre on Thursday, April 6 at 7:30 p.m. in NOZHEM – the First Peoples Performance Space at Gzowski College on the Symons Campus. The evening will feature songs, dances, monologues, and scenes from a variety of works, including: Princess Pocahontas and the Blue Spots by Monique Mojica; Someday by Drew Hayden Taylor; More than Feathers and Beads by Murielle Borst; The Rez Sisters by Tomson Highway; and Dry Lips Oughta Move to Kapuskasing by Tomson Highway. Several unique student creations will also be staged, including: Bezaanteg Jibwaa Biidaabang (Silence Before Dawn) by Liz Osawamick and One in a Million by Joalan Pinto.
