He will be discussing his next and yet unpublished novel, and a book signing will follow. Set in Botswana, where Mr. McCall Smith was born and raised, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective books have sold more than 2 million copies in English and topped the New York Times Best Seller List. Other books in the series include The Kalahari Typing School For Men, Morality for Beautiful Girls and Tears of the Giraffe. Mr. McCall Smith has also written specialist academic titles, short story collections, and a number of immensely popular children's books. He is the vice-chairman of the Human Genetics Commission of the UK,
the chairman of the British Medical Journal Ethics Committee, and a member
of the International Bioethics Commission of UNESCO. He is ethical advisor
