TRENT UNIVERSITY’S ANNUAL PENPAL DAY COMING UP

Penpal Day, an end-of-year celebration for participants of the Trent University Penpal Program, will be held at the University on Friday, March 21.

The annual program matches Queen’s-Trent Concurrent Teacher Education students with local children in grades 1, 2 and 3. This year, over 500 children and University students have been writing to each other. Local schools involved include Grove Public School, Keith Wightman Public School, King Edward Public School, Otonabee Valley Public School and Curve Lake First Nations School.

Penpal Day will take place in the Lady Eaton College Dining Hall at Trent University from 9:30 - 11 a.m. T-shirt painting and fun activities are planned, and the recommended time for photo opportunities is between 10 - 11 a.m.

Dr. Avis Glaze, director of the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board, has been invited to attend, along with school principals.
