Documentary Filmmaker Albert Maysles to Speak at Trent January 24 |

On Tuesday January 24 at 7:30 PM, documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles will speak about his career and the ethics and practice of his cinematic field. The presentation, including video and question and answer, will be take place in the lecture hall at the Argyle campus of Gzowski College at 780 Argyle Street. Albert Maysles has been making documentaries for over 50 years. His film of the Rolling Stones' first US tour, Gimme Shelter, is considered one of the most important documentaries ever made. Among his other works are the award-winning Salesman, Grey Gardens, and When We Were Kings, as well as, more recently, The Gates. His biographical subjects have included Barndo, Truman, Horowitz, Ali, Kennedy, and Cristo. He has been the subject of no fewer than 10 major retrospectives at international film festivals.
