Celebrate the Nahanni at Trent University |
||
Trent University will host the Royal Canadian Geographical Society's 2005 Fraser Lectureship in Northern Studies on Friday, November 25, 2005. Offered in partnership with the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS), "Nahanni Forever" will feature four guest speakers.
The lectures will emphasize the beauty and importance of the Nahanni, with a focus on the Nahanni karstlands. Located within the Dehcho First Nations' traditional territory, the Nahanni is part of Canada's boreal forest and one of the last great forest ecosystems on earth. The Nahanni is home to Nahanni National Park Reserve and is a World Heritage Site. The lecture will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Trent's main campus at Gzowski College, room 114. Admission is free with donations to CPAWS' Nahanni campaign welcome. Photo 1 - Grand Chief Herb Norwegian, Dehcho First Nations, photo by Rosa Wright. Posted November 22, 2005
