Independent Science: The Implications of Government-funded Research |

Trent Professor William Woof will explore the implications of the scientific world's dependence on government funding at a lecture at the University on Tuesday, November 8, 2005. The event, hosted by iHUB, a student-led organization at Trent, presents a unique opportunity to learn about independent science. Prof. Woof will discuss the future of science with its heavy dependence on governments and corporations for research dollars as well as the political implications of dependent science. Following the lecture, the floor will be open for debate on the issues raised by Prof. Woof. The lecture will take place in the Lady Eaton College Pit on Tuesday, November 8 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. iHUB is dedicated to uniting people to work together to solve global problems and raise the world's quality of life through science.
