New Workshops at the Career Centre |
||
Students, need a quick and free way to answer your career questions? The Career Centre is excited to introduce three new workshops into their regularly scheduled sessions. Students now have the opportunity to participate in Career Assessments; Building Your Portfolio and Making the Most of the Alumni-Student Mentoring Program. "Workshops are a fantastic way for students to get more than just the basic information. They can have all of their questions answered and participate in hands-on activities to learn more about career and employment issues," says Natalie Boot, Career Resource Advisor for the centre. "It's an opportunity to dig a little deeper; either to learn more about themselves or to tap into effective strategies to meet their goals. With the range of topics being facilitated, there is something for every student – whatever their objective, year of study or questions." The new workshops feature online activities, handouts with links and information sources, and small group activities and discussion. All three will be taking place November 7 to 11, 2005. To view a complete schedule and list of the Career Centre's workshops, visit www.trentu.ca/careers/students/workshops.html. Other topics facilitated on an ongoing basis include: Resume Writing, Career Exploration, Effective Work Search Strategies, Interview Skills, Choosing Your Major, Networking and more. All workshops are free for Trent students and alumni and are approximately one hour in length. For more information on Career Centre services contact 748-1011 x1385. Posted November 4, 2005
