Native Studies to Host Information Session |

Native Liaison and Recruitment Services at Trent University will host a Postsecondary Information Opportunity Wednesday, September 28, for First Nations, Metis, non-status, Inuit and anyone of Native heritage who is interested in finding out about their educational options in Ontario. All Native and non-Native students, teachers and parents are welcome to the information session to find out about Trent's Indigenous disciplines. Aboriginal Liaison representatives from colleges and universities throughout Ontario will attend to provide information about the programs of study and admissions opportunities at their schools. The information opportunity will include a tour of the First Peoples House of Learning and an introductory Native Studies lecture. Participants can sample traditional foods and listen to traditional teachings conveyed in song with the hand drum. The Postsecondary Information Opportunity will be held within the Gathering Space Mshikenh, in the First Peoples House of Learning, Enweying Building on the East Bank of the Symons Campus. Agenda:
*6-8 p.m. – evening session: will include presentations from college and university liaison representatives in the First Peoples Arts Space at Enweying. It is an opportunity to obtain admissions and program information from a variety of college and university programs throughout Ontario.
