Float Your Boat! |
||
Trent students, staff and faculty channeled their creativity and took to the water to raise money for HIV/AIDS research at the third annual Float Your Boat event. Float Your Boat, held September 24 at Millennium Park, is a fun-filled way to raise money for AIDS and AIDS research. Participants working in teams of four to eight received enough cardboard, Styrofoam and duct tape to build a makeshift boat. One member of each fundraising team raced that boat against other teams for the chance to win. Prizes were awarded for teams placing first in their heat, as well as the most creative team and the team with the most spirit. Float Your Boat is sponsored by Peterborough AIDS Resource Network, the College Cabinets and the TCSA. All proceeds will be donated to PARN, which provides education, awareness and outreach programs to communities in Peterborough, Northumberland and Haliburton counties as well as the City of Kawartha Lakes.
