Clubs and Groups Day Gets Students Active and Involved |
||
The Bata Podium was filled Wednesday with sunshine, pumping music and new students checking out the more than 70 student organizations at Trent University. Clubs and Groups Day, part of Introductory Seminar Week (ISW), treated students to the many opportunities to get involved around campus. The day allows students to meet representatives from the various organizations, ask questions and, even join clubs on the spot. There is no shortage to the diversity of clubs at Trent. Students' choices include the Trent Dance Team, the Trent Gospel Choir, the Hispanic Organization of Latin Awareness, The Trent Queer Collective and the Forensic Science Society. Students also had the chance to sit in on seminars on academic and student life through the University Transitions Sessions. Introductory classes in subjects such as biology, history, psychology and philosophy allowed students the opportunity to preview their choices for the upcoming year. The sessions continue into Thursday. The day wraps up with Introfest, which includes a barbecue on campus and a concert performance by the Trews.
