In this issue: Internship Opportunities & Deadlines AUCC Young Professionals International (YPI) AUCC, in partnership with private sector companies and international organizations in the area of education, is offering eight (8) placements, for periods varying from six (6) to nine (9) months, in a wide variety of countries and work settings. Placements will provide young Canadian graduates with a unique opportunity to gain work experience at the international level in domains such as communications; public relations; consulting; marketing; and the promotion of Canadian education services; etc. These placements will provide these young Canadian university graduates with first hand knowledge of foreign cultures and languages, give them a unique opportunity to acquire an international network of contacts, and develop their sensitivity to Canada's place and interest in the world. The placements will be located in: Belgium, England, Finland, France, Ghana, Kenya, and United States. The application deadline is May 16, 2005 (4 p.m. EST). You are eligible if you* are between 19 and 30 years of age;* are unemployed or underemployed;* have a post-secondary degree or diploma;* are a Canadian citizen or a landed immigrant;* have never had a paid, career-related, international work experience; and if you* are interested in a six-month international internship with a leading sustainable development organization in Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia or the U.S. Nearly 300 young Canadians from a wide variety of academic backgrounds and experiences have already taken part. Qualifications are specific to each placement. Public Service Commission Recruiting The Public Service Commission will be recruiting for positions with the Foreign Service of Canada this spring. Interested applicants will only be able to apply online via our website at www.JOBS.GC.CA. The postings are online and close on the April 19th. Please note that applicants will be required to write three exams to be held on Saturday, the 14th of May. More information on these exams and the application process are available on the web site. Orion Grassroots Network: Internship & Career Service Update Check out the numerous new jobs, internships, and other opportunities available through the ICS Updates!
