Construction Work on Athletic Fields Master Plan Begins |
||
"The partnership between students and the administration will provide our students with access to the top quality facilities and services," said Bill Byrick, Director of Athletics. "By creating excellence in our athletic operations and creating incentives for students to come to Trent, we are creating a new sense of ownership and new partnerships with the local community." Part of the business plan will see an athletics reserve created so that there would be adequate funding on hand to replace the artificial turf in 12 years without an additional student levy.
During the week of April 11, work will include the removal of the existing structures, the location of electrical utilities and the arrival of heavy construction equipment. Future activities will see the removal of top soil from the west bank to the east bank, the removal of existing light standards and the construction of a new track. In July, new artificial turf will be installed on the west bank with final landscaping and fencing completed in August before the beginning of school. Posted April 14, 2005 |
