Trent University's Career Centre Hosts Summer Job and Volunteer Fair for Students: February 2 |
||
The Trent University Career Centre is hosting the Summer Job and Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, February 2, in Peter Gzowski College at Symons Campus in the main foyer from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event is intended to give Trent students a chance to meet potential employers to discuss summer jobs and volunteer opportunities. The Summer Job and Volunteer Fair allows students to explore and consider unique and exciting summer job possibilities and is a great way to start their summer job search. "This year's participants are very eager to meet with Trent students," says Sonya Hardman, employer services advisor. "There are a lot of great opportunities available and employers have chosen to target our students to promote their organizations and potential jobs." Businesses and organizations being represented at the fair include: KOM Consultants, Camp Island Lake, Trent-Severn Waterway, Peterborough Family Resource Centre, Canadian Red Cross, New Canadians Centre, Alternatives Community Program Services, Camp Wahanowin, Habitat for Humanity - Peterborough & District, The YWCA of Peterborough, Victoria and Haliburton, G.B. Catering, Thunderhouse Forest Services Inc., Camp Arowhon, Frontier College, Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board, Verge Magazine, Trent University Department of Athletics & Recreation, Office of the Registrar, Trent Bookstore, and other on-campus departments. Some organizations will be holding preliminary interviews, so it is important that students come prepared with their resumes. The Career Centre is facilitating workshops before the event in order to prepare students on how to network at career events. A workshop schedule can be found at www.trentu.ca/careers/students/workshops.html. Posted January 28, 2005 |
