Islam Awareness Week: January 24 - 27 |
||
In hosting the seventh annual Islam Awareness Week, the Trent Muslim Students Association (TMSA) will be exploring the role of women in the Islamic culture. "The true Islamic perspective, is that women are actually liberated," says Najim Dost, TMSA president, adding the week will consist of a poster exhibition, films and workshops. Events are scheduled throughout the week of January 24 and all are invited to embark on this weeklong journey of discovery and understanding. There is no cost or pre-registration required for any of the events. The Trent Muslim Student Association was formed in 1998 and is currently in its seventh year of operation. It is the mandate of this organization to promote the interests of the Muslim community throughout Peterborough and specifically, to develop an environment of peace in which Muslim students can live and study.
