Trent English Department Series Celebrates Trent's Founding Decade with a Nostalgic Look at the Sixties The sixties revisited. This year's Rooke Lecture series invites audience members to return to the sixties, the decade of Trent University's founding, with talks on the early days and the architecture of the University as well as literary and cultural landmarks of the period. The series will be highlighted by visits from old friends and former residents of Peterborough, who will help us mark Trent's fortieth anniversary throughout the year.

Even the Peterborough flood can't dampen the Rooke, now in its seventh year of providing entertaining lectures for the Peterborough public. The first four lectures in the series will move to the Art Gallery of Peterborough, while the Peterborough Public Library, co-sponsor of the event, completes restoration work to its basement auditorium. As in past years, all lectures take place on Thursday evenings at 7:30.
