Trent Staff Plan 60s Diner for 40th Anniversary |
|||
Trent University staff will be donning bell bottoms and tie-dye, and belting out Beatles tunes come Wednesday, October 13. In one of a series of events scheduled for the week leading up to the University's 40th anniversary, staff will hold a "60s Diner" from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Champlain College Great Hall. The 60s Diner will feature a food fair put on by Aramark with 60s pricing, a soda bar, sock hop, 60s music, and displays. Staff members have even planned an antique car exhibit at Lady Eaton field. One of the highlights of the day will be the judging of best 60s costume and knowledge of the 60s by Trent staffer Sybil Nunn Thorn, from the Communications Office. Sybil is well known for her lively banter and will be spoofing the unyielding hostess of television's The Weakest Link as she puts contestants on the spot for big prizes. Julie Crook of Physical Resources is the key organizer of the 60s Diner and she's thrilled with the response she's had from staff throughout the University. "The staff at Trent are thrilled to celebrate Trent's 40th,"said Ms. Crook. "We hope everyone will get into the spirit and join us for some fun." Don't miss the 60's diner - open to all.
