"It was a good race, it's still early in the season and we're really just trying to get some competitions in and get in racing shape, and so far things have been coming along real well," says Mr. Hart, a Peterborough native. "We've now raced most of the top competitors in the province so it's just a matter of continuing to progress." Trent's next race is January 17 in Deep River. Trent opens nordic ski season with first-place finishes Trent's Stephen Hart led the way with two first-place finishes, as the Excalibur nordic ski team opened the season at the Ontario Cup in North Bay over the holidays. Mr. Hart triumphed in both the eight-kilometre classic and the eight-kilometre skate. Meanwhile, Peter Braul and Adreienne Mason significantly improved their results over last year. The next competition for the ski team is the OUA Cup in Deep River, on January 17 and 18. Trent's Angela Dafoe selected for OCAA Women's Volleyball All-Star Game
"Ange is a very hard worker both on and off of the volleyball court; she's also a team player and a great leader," says Adam Ruck, assistant coach. Ms. Dafoe hails from Frankford, Ontario and plays the power position for the Excalibur. Trent currently sits in fourth place in the eastern division of the OCAA and will host the second-place Loyalist Lancers on January 7 at the Athletic Centre. This game will be broadcast on Cogeco 10.
