Team Trent Pedals for the United Way With a campaign that's already over the top, Team Trent could have coasted through the 10th Annual Ride At The Y... But instead, the five team members collected $1,277 in pledges and pedaled with purpose at 8 a.m. on November 5. The 12-hour marathon ride on stationary bicycles saw 11 teams and more than 40 individuals participate between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. at Peterborough's YMCA. Trent has exceeded its United Way Campaign goal, as faculty, staff and retirees have raised over $55,000 - more than ever before. Campaign co-chairs Prof. Eric Helleiner and staff member Julie Crook sincerely thank the Trent community for their contributions to this important cause. And the momentum continues as the Champlain College Cabinet has organized a 70s Disco Rollerskating Party on November 13 at Stardust Skateland in support of the United Way. Skating will take place between 8 and 10 p.m. and prizes will be awarded for best costume, best dance moves, as well as disco king and queen. The cost of this event is $6, plus $3 for a skate rental or you can bring your own. Stardust Skateland is located at 1539 Chemong Road, just North of Walmart.
There will be a shuttle bus leaving main campus at 7:45 p.m. and 8:15
p.m., and returning to campus from the event at 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
