Athletic and alumni events coincided on campus, invigorating the University with friendly rivalry and fellowship. The weekend saw more than 400 boats on the Trent-Severn Waterway, racing the 4.5-kilometre course from the Parkhill Street bridge to the famous Faryon Bridge at the University. In the largest single-day regatta in North America, the Trent Excalibur rowing team came away with a gold medal in the University Men’s Singles, a silver in the Men’s Heavy 8 and a bronze in the Men’s Heavy Double. Also, silver medals in the Women’s Lighweight Single and the Women’s Heavy 8 were earned, as was a gold in the Women's Novice 8. Meanwhile, Head of the Trent is yearly the largest gathering of former students. Many activities, including the Alumni Association’s 35th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and old boys athletic events, took place. Posted October 6, 2003 |
