Get Ready for Higher Learning: University Prep 101
The course is open to anyone expecting to attend university this fall, or in the future. Students graduating from high school, and community college students intending to begin or complete a university degree, will find the course particularly useful, as will individuals who have been out of school, but now plan to return. Students will be introduced to the types of assignments and academic expectations typical of a first year university program. In addition to learning writing, reading, critical thinking, and study skills, participants will have the opportunity to meet other prospective students and share strategies for making the transition to university as smooth as possible. In Oshawa, students can take the course from July 7th to August 20th on Monday and Wednesday evenings. In Peterborough, the course will be held daily, Monday to Friday, August 5th to the 27th. Classes will include lectures, small group work, and individual consultations. The cost of the course is $450 and includes all materials.
