Ontario Universities and Guidance Counsellors meet at Trent University
Two hundred guidance
counsellors from throughout Eastern Ontario had an opportunity to meet
with representatives from nineteen Ontario universities May 27 through
Regional Dialogues held at Trent University.
Regional Dialogues is an annual event that gives high school guidance counsellors
a chance to hear the latest information about university programs and facilities.
Four regional single-day meetings were held at universities around the province;
the eastern Ontario region Regional Dialogue took place at Trent.
Trent University Registrar Susan Salusbury, who is also president of the Ontario
University Registrars Association, was pleased that Trent University was selected
to host the Regional Dialogues. "It's a great opportunity to exchange
information with guidance counsellors and with other Universities," she
said. "And it's also a great time to showcase Trent University. The campus
is in full bloom and our new buildings on the east bank are really looking
impressive."
The day's events were held at Wenjack Theatre and featured a welcome by president
Bonnie Patterson, break-out sessions with various universities, and a luncheon.
John Michel from the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities was also
in attendance.
