Art Expert Donates Expertise to Support Academic Prizes at Trent University
In the "Artiques Roadshow", experts, including Canadian antiques appraiser Marshall Gummer, will look at paintings, prints and drawings as well as all sorts of antiques and collectibles, including fine ceramics, silver, early radios and heirloom teddy bears. Lady Eaton College principal, professor Arndt Kruger, encourages everyone to attend. "It's an opportunity to find out more about your family heirloom or found treasures while supporting the students of Trent University," he said. "So dig out those items from the garage and basement and join us for a fun weekend of discovery." The money raised from the event will fund prizes for academic excellence for the students of Lady Eaton College. The prizes are awarded each year at special events during the fall and at the end of the academic year. The Artiques Roadshow event, hosted by the University's Lady Eaton College, will take place at the Lady Eaton College Senior Common Room on Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost for appraising one item is $30; $50 for two; and $60 for three.
