Day of Remembrance for Slain Women Friday December 6, 2002 there will be a number of activities to remember the women slain at L'École Polytechnique in Montreal on December 6, 1989. The Trent Women's Centre is creating a "safe space" from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to gather and remember victims of violence against women. A short vigil will be held at 3 p.m. where not only the December 6th women will be remembered but also women globally who have been affected by violence. White ribbons will be sold on campus. For more information contact the Trent Women's Centre at 748-1781. Between 11:00 a.m. and 6 p.m. there will be a signing book and display to commemorate the 14 slain women at the Cinema 379 George St. Café next to Titles bookstore. Everyone is welcome. The signing book will be sent to L'École Polytechnique to show our support. There will also be information available about community organizations that work towards eradicating violence of any kind.
