Painting party a success: Parade float well underway

On Tuesday, November 19, some colour was added to the University’s Santa Claus parade float. A painting party was held at 6 p.m. in the Physical Resources Quonset hut (across from the Commoner), and everyone who came to help out had a fun time.

This year the Santa Claus parade will be held in Peterborough on Saturday, December 7, starting at 5:30 p.m. from City Hall. The parade will make its way down George Street to the Memorial Centre, and the theme of this year’s event is "Christmas traditions."

The Trent float is based on a "Charlie Brown Christmas" theme, and there are numerous people who have been involved in the planning so far. Spearheading the float project is Jean Hamilton from Human Resources.

"Things are going very well," says Ms. Hamilton, adding that there will be some additional decorating nights in the lead-up to the parade. If any staff, students or faculty would like to help out in the upcoming work nights, please give Ms. Hamilton a call at 748-1011, ext. 1460.
