Federal government offers large scholarship to Trent student Trent student Donica Belisle has been offered a scholarship, valued up to $53,100, from the federal government. The scholarship is part of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) program, and 575 Canadian students have been offered similar awards. The scholarships are intended to help Canadians attain Ph.Ds, in an effort to ensure universities will be able to fill the more than 16,000 faculty positions that will come open in upcoming years, as a result of retirements.
