Expert to discuss art fraud

Fine art consultant and advisor David Freeman will speak about art fraud on Thursday, November 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lady Eaton College Pit at Trent University.

Mr. Freeman is an expert in his field and is a consultant to auctioneers throughout the world, particularly in Great Britain, the United States, Belgium, Holland, Germany, France, Sweden, South Africa, the Far East and Canada. He has been featured in numerous television and radio programs about art fraud on networks including CityTV, the New VR, BBC TV, BBC radio and Granada TV. Most recently, he was featured in an episode of the Antiques Roadshow in Barrie, Ontario.

Inventors of the "high-risk indexing system" designed for insurance purposes, Mr. Freeman and his wife Jacqueline live in the south-west of England and have managed three international exhibits of fine art in Canada since the year 2000. They are also responsible for recently cataloguing and researching the prestigious Nydam Collection of 200 European and Canadian paintings and works of art.

Mr. Freeman’s presentation is sponsored by Lady Eaton College and will be of interest to many members of the community. The event is free and open to the public.
