Legendary Canadian astronaut and former Trent Chancellor, Dr. Roberta Bondar, shares her “down-to-earth” reflections from a career in science — and space
Star Trek called space “the final frontier,” but for Dr. Roberta Bondar, it’s just one of many life-changing experiences in a unique life that has led to the exploration of many frontiers, including academia, public service, nature photography, and a new digital venture inspiring future generations of youth and students to be lifelong learners and critical thinkers.
Her passion for education was evident during her six years as Trent’s chancellor (2003-2009), where Dr. Bondar strongly advocated for students to learn not only about academic topics, but also about themselves. She wanted each Trent student to gain new perspectives from their university environment, just as her space flight changed her perspective on Earth.
Now, almost 30 years after Dr. Roberta Bondar made history as the first Canadian woman in space, Trent’s former chancellor has enjoyed another successful launch – a new six-part podcast series called Sharing Space with Dr. Roberta Bondar, where she talks to other famous Canadians about how they found their life’s passions.
The six-part podcast series is available to stream on Apple, Spotify, Google, and Amazon Music.
