Trent University Library & Archives continues to offer electronic collections and virtual services. As part of the University’s limited and reduced campus presence, Bata Library and the Durham GTA Campus Library & Learning Centre are closed and physical collections are unavailable. ODESI  (Ontario Data Documentation, Extraction Service and Infrastructure) is a web based data repository, extraction and analysis service which includes Statistics Canada microdata and aggregate data, Canadian Gallup Polls, CORA (Canadian Opinion Research Archive) and other data sets. In addition, metadata for the  ICPSR (Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research) are available.

ODESI provides researchers with the ability to search for survey questions and variables across thousands of datasets. It supports basic taulation and analysis online, and also allows for the downloading of most datasets into statistical software for further analysis.

License Conditions

Data are available to registered members of Trent University for their research, instructional or learning needs. Commercial use, transfer, resale, donation or exchange of data acquired through ODESI are expressly prohibited. Researchers who are attempting to download restricted data sets from off campus, will be prompted for their Trent User ID and password. Metadata (descriptive information about data such as survey questionnaires, code books, variable  definitions) are available to the public domain.
