Introductory Tours of the Bata Library

Fall 2015

Tours of the Bata Library are available during Orientation Week and the first week of classes.

Monday - Friday at 11:00am and 2:00pm.

There's no need to sign up - just meet on the Main (2nd) Floor of Bata Library, in the open "atrium" in front of the Library Service Desk.

Not a new student?  Not a problem - use the opportunity to ask those questions that bothered you all last year.

What's Covered

The tour takes about 20 minutes and walks you through the Library, explaining our services and resources. It's most useful as an introduction to the Library, to coordinate with our online tutorials that explain how to use our resources.

Next Steps

The Library is mostly a virtual space, with bulk of our resources linked from our website.  You'll need to know the site and learn to find and use the resources in order to be successful in your courses.  Our online tutorials are designed to show you how.

See the Library Skills Tutorials.

In some of your courses you'll likely have a Library Skills test, so you can learn to research like the scholar that you now are.  This is done online, using our Library Skills Tutorials and the LearningSystem (Blackboard).  Your course syllabus will tell you about it, if you need it.

Any time you have a question concerning the Library, you can find contact information on our Ask Us! page.  It's under "Help" at the top of all our webpages.
