Student Housing recognizes that the post-secondary experience extends beyond the classroom and that Residences provide an opportunity to support the academic mission of the university. Student Housing' curricular approach has a much more intentional and collaborative effort with our campus partners to focus on meeting learning goals and outcomes of intentional learning experiences.
The Residence Learning Model is an educational plan derived from an overarching educational priority with specific learning goals, learning outcomes and sequenced strategies to achieve each outcome. The term programming does not capture many new and important activities associated with student learning and development, like Community Meetings, Community and Roommate Agreements, and Meaningful Conversations. The learning experiences provided to students through the Residence Learning Model will enhance their overall learning experience using a variety of strategies and content experts.
The Residence Learning Model can be used as a guide during the academic year in residence. The Residence Learning Model is in place to help assist the learning experience for yourself as a student living in residence.
