Class #2: Explore filmmaking with Mike Moring
Saturday February 27, 2021 at 4:00pm EST
Mike will be showcasing projects that he has worked on, highlighting the behind the scenes work put into filmmaking, and talking about his recent short film "Before It Dies." Mike created this short film with his partner Taylor within the span of a weekend from script to final edit as a contribution to the 4th Line Theatre's "Digital Festival of Light and Dark." Please watch the short film prior to this discussion ine this class.
Mike has been an active (or semi-active) member of Peterborough’s film community since he was a teenager with the release of his award-winning short film, Untitled. Since then, Mike has continued to hone his craft and explore various genres. His work (like the short drama, Natasha and the short horror, A Certain Kind of Monster) has been showcased at a number of international film festivals including Montreal's prestigious Fantasia Film Festival.
He enjoyed satirizing his hometown as the co-creator and co-star of the recurring comic web series Mike and Adam are Jobless. He is also proud to have his name in the credits – in various roles – in the work of many of his peers. Presently, Mike is the Director of Photography and Editor for The Fish’n Canada Show (Global).
Pandemic permitting, he hopes to continue work on his first feature-length film in 2021.
